　韓国の自動車メーカー最大手、ヒュンダイモーターカンパニー（現代自動車）は、米国でトヨタ自動車からの買い替えを奨励するため、トヨタ車を下取りに出してヒュンダイ車に乗り換える顧客に対して、1000ドル（約９万円）を還元すると発表した。

ヒュンダイ米販売子会社の広報担当クリス・ホスフォード氏によると、プログラムの実施期間は28日から２月１日まで。セダン「ソナタ」とコンパクトカー「エラントラ」「エラントラ・ツーリング」への買い替えに対象を限定する。

Many of complaints in the US were made by S.Korean-Americans without reason (see complaints). Toyota started selling in S.Korea a bit before the Toyota's issue with a strong success which was probably taken as a 'threat' for local car makers. There are more reasons: Ultra nationalism and AntiJapanese sentiment. From November 2010 the access to NHSTA's website is limited why?

A short and objective summary of what happened: If you know an engineer working on Toyota, Lexus or Scion, you will be able too see the facts (even S.Korean engineers), they obviously know about the complaints because they were the most affected.

************* MORE ************* The anti-Toyota movie was fed by this too: GM filed for bankruptcy due an important decrease of sales year after year (unreliable products, betraying American people), directly affecting, obviously to its employees (but not the CEO, etc. (they kept getting more money than almost any other CEO from any other company). 2.- The American Government partially acquired GM (please, DO NOT forget, the 'current status' of the company doesn't change because of that) and it still needed to be helped to avoid the inneficience of the company, especially through the gain of market share (for example). Obviously, the perfect target to STEAL customers was the biggest and STRONGEST "non"american company (it actually builds more american cars than GM), TOYOTA.
PLUS: The question is, after that issue, is there anything better in the US? NO, in fact, GM, trying to make its cars more profitable, is going to build them in China (that's why the Obama Administration wants to improve the 'relations' with China), not to provide JOB in the US but in CHINA and then selling these cars in the US as (American-Made cars).

まぁ～これが現在判って来ている事実なんですよねぇ～･････
米国をバッシングする前に、こういった裏の動きに対処すべきであって、
問題解決の糸口は、そこからですね。

　まぁ～ワタシなら米国議員等へ圧力（金）を掛けて
トヨタ自身が、悪いのは米国では無く、米国民の心（ＧＭ）を巧みに操り
米国民を欺いた現代自動車と、それをバックアップする韓国政府に
問題の根本はあると、トヨタ自動車が声明を出し、
それを米国議会がバックアップする手法を採れば、
米国民はトヨタへ喝采を贈るだろうし、韓国のダメージは必須だろうし、
トヨタは「米韓ＦＴＡ」の件で、怒涛のごとく米国からトヨタ自動車を
韓国へ売り込む事ができ、現代自動車を駆逐する事が出来るのになぁ～･････

なぜって？？？

在米韓国人も、在日韓国人も、どこのメーカーのクルマが多いか知っている？
普通ならいつも韓国を敬って、反日なんだからヒュンダイ（現代自動車）に
乗っていると思うだろ！
･･･がしかし、現実には在米在日韓国人双方共に日本車が多数を
占めるんですよねぇ～･･･面白い現象だよねぇ～･････

どうせなら、トヨタ品質を嫌った米国民を逆に味方に付け失地回復を図り、
欺いたヒュンダイ（現代自動車）を叩き潰して業績回復を図るには
良い方策だと思うんだけれどもなぁ～･････いかがですか♪
